How to Put a Photo on a Hoodie (UK)

Whether it's a photo of your dog, a family picture, or a favourite holiday snap, putting a photo on a hoodie is much simpler than it used to be. You don't need design software, a print shop appointment, or a minimum order — here's exactly how it works.

Step 1: Choose a Good Source Photo

The single biggest factor in how a photo hoodie turns out is the quality of the original image. A few things to look for:

  • Higher resolution is better — a photo straight from a phone camera is usually more than good enough
  • Good lighting matters more than an expensive camera — natural daylight photos tend to print best
  • Avoid heavily zoomed-in or cropped phone screenshots where possible, as detail gets lost

If your only photo is a bit low-resolution, that's not necessarily a dealbreaker — our AI tools include image enhancement that can improve a lower-resolution photo so it holds up better at full print size.

Step 2: Upload and Let AI Do the Fiddly Part

Once you upload your photo into the designer, our built-in AI tools can:

  • Remove the background — genuinely useful for photos with a cluttered or distracting background you'd rather not print
  • Transform the style — turn a photo into a cartoon, painterly, or other creative style, just by describing what you want
  • Enhance the image — improve a lower-resolution photo for cleaner printing

None of this needs design experience — you describe what you want in plain English and the AI handles the actual image editing.

Step 3: Position Your Design

Hoodies have a front chest zone and a full back panel. You can print on either side, or both, and position your image within our live guide box so you can see exactly where it'll sit on the actual garment before you commit to anything.

Step 4: We Print It With DTF

Your finished design is printed using DTF (Direct to Film) technology at 300 DPI — the same method that lets us handle full-colour photos and gradients in a single pass, with no setup cost and no minimum order. One hoodie costs exactly the same to produce as fifty.

How Much Does a Photo Hoodie Cost?

Adult hoodies start from £39.99 for a single-side print, or £46.99 for front and back. Kids hoodies (3-4 to 12-13 years) start from £29.99, or £34.99 for both sides. The exact price for your chosen options is always shown clearly before you pay — no surprises at checkout.
